Acrylic on plywood, 800’ x 8’.

Working with the St. Louis Arts and Humanities Commission, we developed a plan to paint the 800’ long construction fence around the Old Post Office in downtown St. Louis, in one day. This meant planning, planning, planning. Forty artists were each given twenty linear feet to paint. Besides refraining from anything inflammatory, the artists could paint whatever they wanted. The only requirement was that it blended into the section to the right.

All of the artists were paid a stipend, all materials and food/beverages were provided, and students from Crossroads Middle School acted as gofers. It was an amazing and fun day!
